I was cleaning my apartment today and rearranging my furniture and TV after cytusm suggested a new layout to make full use of the limited space that I have. I like to listen to music while I am doing my household chores and I put on my ipod and I chose the playlist where I have listed a few of my favorite Christian songs ……. and this song started playing …. My Surrender by Steven Curtis Chapman who is one of my favorite singers…… the lyrics hit me hard. I know that I have been slacking in my walk with God …. I have been running my life the way that I want to ….. I surrender but NOT COMPLETELY. I like to have some control over my life. I was reminded again to give it ALL … to surrender it ALL unto Jesus. That He alone can sit on the throne of my life …. less of me and more of Him. More of Jesus in my life … in my actions …. in my words …. in my thoughts. In fact … all that I have comes from Him.
Dear Lord Jesus … forgive me for living my life the way that I want to ….. forgive me for going my own way. It is so easy to leave You out of my life. So easy to make my ears deaf to Your voice. So easy to harden my heart to You. Please soften my heart …. make it soft and moldable. I give it all to You …. I lay it all down at Your feet … I am Yours. Amen
